Credentialled Diabetes Educator
Sharon is a caring and compassionate Credentialled Diabetes Nurse Educator committed to empowering people living with diabetes. With extensive experience across major Victorian health services in both inpatient and outpatient settings, she provides comprehensive education to support safe transitions of care and long-term self-management. Sharon has held specialist roles at Alfred Health, Mercy Women’s Hospital, and Monash Health, working with people with newly diagnosed and established type 1 and type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, insulin pump therapy, and complex conditions including steroid-induced and post-transplant diabetes. She delivers highly personalised care, incorporating technologies such as continuous glucose monitoring, and works closely with multidisciplinary teams to address physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs.
As founder of Insulin Insights, Sharon provides consultations in pre-diabetes, pregnancy planning, injectable therapies (including insulin, GLP-1 and GIP), blood glucose monitoring, and insulin pump therapy. She is passionate about open communication, compassion, and respect, tailoring education across the lifespan. Sharon is a full member of the Australian Diabetes Educators Association and the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (Victoria), and enjoys contributing to community health and modelling the active lifestyle she encourages.
